Event Description:
The 2019 Governor's Humanities Awards will recognize five Montanans for their achievements in humanities scholarship, service, and enhancement of public appreciation for the humanities. An awards banquet will take place on February 7th at 6pm at the Marriott Hotel Colonial in Helena and will feature a keynote from actor and rancher Bill Pullman. William Marcus, retired director of Montana Public Radio/Montana PBS, will host the event. 2019 Honorees: Stephenie Ambrose Tubbs, Helena Ellen Crain, Butte Tami Haaland, Billings Thomas McGuane, Mcleod Elizabeth McNamer, Billings No-host cocktails will begin at 6pm with a dinner and keynote starting at 7pm. Music will be provided by Helena jazz trio ThreeForm. A public awards ceremony will recognize five Montanans for their achievements in humanities scholarship, service, and enhancement of public appreciation for the humanities: Lt. Governor Mike Cooney will present the awards at a public ceremony on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 3pm in the State Capitol Rotunda in Helena. All are welcome to attend.
