State Capital Band Concerts in the Park

The 115th season of concerts in the park performed by the State Capital Band will begin on Thursday, June 29th at 8:00 pm in the Memorial Park band shell. Concerts will be performed each Thursday through August 3rd under the direction of Robert Loveridge. This band is one of the longest continually performing bands in the country and features 50-60 of the finest local musicians. Mr. Loveridge will lead the band each concert through a wide variety of musical entertainment including marches, classical wind ensemble pieces, Broadway and movie themes, and ballads. The audience will then vote on their favorites from each concert. Those pieces chosen as favorites will be performed during the final concert on August 3rd. Picnics, blankets, lawn chairs, and children in the playground will help make the concerts an enjoyable way to spend a summer evening with family and friends.
