Name: ACLU-MT Reception Honoring Shahid Haque-Hausrath
Date: March 4, 2017
Time: 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM MST
Event Description:
Join us in celebrating Shahid Haque-Hausrath, a vital voice for immigrant rights in Montana communities. Over the last decade, Shahid has run Border Crossing Law, where he has represented over a thousand clients across the state. Shahid has advocated for people at all stages of the immigration process, from deportation hearings to gaining citizenship. Shahid is a fantastic ally to the ACLU of Montana and we are grateful for his perseverance, vision, and leadership throughout his many years of work in Montana. The ACLU of Montana is dedicated to preserving and advancing civil liberties, but it's a mission we can’t accomplish alone. The Jeannette Rankin Civil Liberties Award acknowledges individuals and organizations who demonstrate the strength of character and commitment to principles exemplified by Jeannette Rankin — ACLU's first vice president in the 1920s — and embodied in ACLU's mission and vision. The Annual Meeting will take place prior to the award reception (from 5–5:30 p.m.). It is a chance to hear updates about ACLU of Montana's program from Caitlin Borgmann, Executive Director. There is no charge to attend the meeting and no RSVP is needed. Tickets here: https://action.aclu.org/secure/MTRankinEvent2017?ms=web_170104_aff_MT_
