Job Description
ROBERT PECCIA & ASSOCIATES (RPA) has an exciting opportunity for an entry- to senior-level Airport Engineer. This individual will aid, or lead, the planning, design, and construction administration of projects within our Airports Group. The successful candidate will have a strong interest in airport engineering and a desire to learn. Key traits include technical proficiency, self-motivation, team-oriented, and ability to communicate and work well with others.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THIS POSITION

Our Airports Group has been a trusted partner for numerous Montana airports for over 40 years, specializing in comprehensive aviation services. RPA is recognized as an industry leader within the state and beyond. As part of our outstanding Airports team, you will play a pivotal role in providing engineering and construction management support across a wide range of airport improvement projects.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with our team of professionals to deliver innovative solutions that enhance airport infrastructure and operational efficiency, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and meeting client objectives. Typical tasks may include master planning, design of runways, taxiways, and aprons, maintenance projects, and various other airport design needs such as lighting, visual and navigational aids, fencing, hangars, terminals, and fueling systems. You may also collaborate with the group to support marketing and business development strategies.
 
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Individual qualities that the company looks for are self-motivation, intelligence, common sense, industriousness, and the ability to communicate and work well with others. We will consider applicants of all experience levels but are most focused on qualified individuals who exhibit strong technical knowledge with a willingness to learn. The following are desired qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience using design programs such as Civil 3D.
  • Technical ability and desire to learn new software and programs.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
  • Superior attention to detail and technical proficiency.
  • A positive attitude and commitment to be an active participant of our employee-owned culture and alignment with our Core Values.
The following outlines additional position-based desired qualifications:
  • Technician/Designer: Engineering Intern certificate or ability to obtain within six (6) months; 0-4 years of relevant experience.
  • Airport Engineer: Professional Engineering license in Montana or ability to obtain within six (6) months; 4-8 years of relevant experience.
  • Senior Engineer: Professional Engineering license in Montana or ability to obtain within six (6) months; 8+ years of relevant experience engineering.
