Job Description
What you will do: Documents all database problems and monitors database operation and performance statistics. Responsible for database maintenance and recovery. Maintains and monitors the MSF databases on-premises and in the cloud. Have a working knowledge of modern version management systems like GIT and SVN and managing parallel work streams Utilize CI/CD systems like Jenkins and GitHub for managing build pipelines and deployment processes Identifies, tests, and releases database software update patches. Develops and implements a strategy for managing database security. Implements the physical database from the logical design. Develops and implements backup and recovery strategies. Supports software engineers to ensure development methodology and associated deliverables are maintained and followed for database projects. Evaluates the database aspects of new software and systems. Utilize high-level troubleshooting knowledge and understanding of how to traverse logs and various systems. Implement and improve automation of deployment and build processes. Interacts with IT personnel and external vendors to assist with database related issues. Installs and upgrades Oracle RDBMS, Microsoft SQL database, and support tools. Creates and manages database resources. Performs and leads special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned. Works on database aspects of company and departmental projects. What you will need (minimum qualifications): Required: Bachelor’s degree and Minimum of two (2) years experience as a database administrator with work history demonstrating progressive responsibility and technical aptitude. An equivalent combination of education and experience can substitute for education and experience Interest in learning and developing within IT field, including release engineer responsibilities. Preferred: -- Experience in Agile software development life cycle. Relevant Certifications. Location and on-site work: This position requires regular and routine work on-site at the Helena, MT office location. Hybrid work is available when on-site work is not required for the day. Compensation and Benefits: Pay range 3D: Starting salary for the position begins at $94,600 - $118,200. This is an exempt position.
