Event Description:
For the eighth year in a row the Myrna Loy Center will be sponsoring a filmmaking competition and evening of film work by local filmmakers. The Martin Holt Film Festival will be held Monday, August 18 at 8PM.

The 72 hour filmmaking competition runs from August 8 through 11. The theme for the film will be announced Friday, August 8. Filmmakers will have 72 hours to produce and submit their film by Monday, August 11. Themes in the past have included “time,” “space,” and “secret.” Prizes for this years’ filmmaking competition are, $200 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd and 3rd place, and $100 for the “Audience Choice” film. The contest will conclude with a public film festival preview of the films and announcement of winners Monday, August 18 at 8PM.

For the 2nd year, there will also be a short film contest for Helena area filmmakers. Any 15 minutes or shorter film can be submitted to this contest. $200 will be awarded to the winning short film and other prizes will be given for 2nd and 3rd places. Three or more of the short films will be shown at the film festival. 
 

 
Fees/Admission:
