NorthWestern Energy, an investor-owned ''mid-sized'' public utility, serves approximately 764,000 electric and natural gas customers in Montana, South Dakota, Nebraska, and Yellowstone Park. It has one of the largest geographic US service territories and is one of the largest providers of electricity and natural gas in the northwest quadrant of the US.
