about us
Montana’s Summer Science Camp for Kids & Center for Teacher Training Learning Camps for Kids The MLC’s programs encourage children to be lifelong learners, critical thinkers, and action-takers. A STEAM approach allows campers, grades 1-12, to explore science, technology, engineering, art and math. Students participate in science experiments, activity-based math, educational games and thrilling field trips. Most camps take place at Canyon Ferry Lake where campers have fun fishing, kayaking, boating and swimming. Camp staff is composed of certified teachers, many of whom are award winning. Astronomy Program The public is welcome to enjoy an evening of astronomical wonder away from city lights under the dark skies of Montana. Join us for a star party. This three-hour program is an introduction and sampler for beginning stargazers. Groups include adults and families with children eight years old or older. It’s a perfect way to celebrate an anniversary or birthday. Our guide will help you use star charts to locate constellations and take a tour of the night sky. Then you use the largest public telescope in Montana to view the cosmos. You’ll see a variety of astronomical objects and learn their importance. This program is held from June through October, weather permitting. Your experience includes hot chocolate and a snack, campfire on request. Reservations are required 24 hours in advance. Maximum group size is 20.
