about us
The Archie Bray Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the enrichment of the ceramic arts. The Bray offers artist residencies to a small group of applicants each year, and continuing education classes to students of the ceramic arts from both the local community and the world. Founded in 1951, the Bray is located on the grounds of the former Western Clay Manufacturing Company just west of Helena on Country Club Avenue. Also on site is the Bray Clay Business, selling ceramic materials, equipment and supplies. An annual exhibition of the current resident artist's work is on display during the summer from mid June through July. The Bray Sales Gallery is open year round; 11am-5pm Monday through Friday, and 12-4pm on Saturdays (12-4 on Sundays, too, between Father's Day and Labor Day). A self-guided tour of the 26-acre site is available using a map/brochure that can be found in a mailbox near the Gazebo. Visitors are welcome to walk the grounds anytime during daylight hours. For more information check our website or phone 406-443-3502. Sales galleries are located at the Bray and downtown at 434 N. Last Chance Gulch.
