Job Description
This full-time, non-exempt position's functional role supports the VP of Finance & Administration and is responsible for the implementation of West Mont’s financial management strategy & contributes to the development of the organization’s strategic goals. The Finance Director exercises authority in planning, organizing, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating West Mont financial operations and the financial condition of programs administered by the organization. In coordination with the VP of Finance & Administration, this position has oversight of budget management, division accounting, financial analysis, cost projections, revenue collection, program analysis and reporting, and the contract system, including audit reviews. This position will be charged developing & implementing more sophisticated policies & procedures both in the finance and general operational realms. Responsible for supervision and control over accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll functions. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, finance, business, economics, or closely related field. 5-years of budgeting, accounting, or economics experience and 2+ years supervisory experience that may have been obtained concurrently with the other work experience. Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED: • Non-profit financial experience is a strong plus. • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public administration including management and organizational analysis, state government budgeting, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and the operation of state and department-specific financial databases and general management techniques. • Detail-oriented, highly organized, excellent time management with ability to manager several projects at the same time. • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, and committed to excellence. • Must have strong leadership, mediation, statistical, accounting, budgetary, conflict management, extensive problem-solving skills, and strong communication and analytical skills. • Ability to achieve measurable, meaningful results in a fast-paced environment and ability to embrace and incorporate direct feedback. • Must be able to operate general office equipment independently. • Demonstrable analytical thinking & business insight. • Must be efficient in the operation of a personal computer for use in developing and maintaining complex financial spreadsheets and databases. • Attention to details required for proper processing of job functions. Flexibility required to prioritize multiple tasks and follow through to completion in a busy office environment. Works with repeated interruptions. • Must have strong work ethic and be detail oriented, professional attitude, and reliable. • Ability to work independently and with a team in a fast paced and high-volume environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
