Job Description
The Helena Housing Authority (HHA) seeks a Facilities Manager. The position provides an exciting opportunity to work in conjunction with the Executive Director and Board of Commissioners to achieve the Authority’s mission to provide quality affordable housing for eligible neighbors in the Helena community and promote opportunities to enhance life skills and personal achievement. Responsibilities The position is responsible for meaningful and dynamic responsibilities within the authority including: • Assess, review , develop and supervise all the processes of maintenance and repair project and ensure high production and quality workmanship. • Establish, implement and prioritize the delivery of maintenance and services to the housing authority. • Ability to inspect, estimate and prioritize projects of all public housing maintenance and repair projects. • Perform a variety of trade functions to include electrical, plumbing, construction, HVAC, sprinkler systems and general residential unit maintenance. • Administer contracts with private firms to accomplish small construction and major repair work. • Direct, supervise, train, evaluate, and coordinate scheduling of maintenance personnel. • Order and monitory inventory and accounting transactions. • Direct and schedule vehicle, equipment and supply assignment, maintenance and repair. • Develop and implement occupational and workplace safety programs. • Establish and deliver appropriate customer services guidelines by all department staff. • Additional duties may be assigned by the executive director. Compensation and Benefits The salary range for this position is $67,679 to $85,000 based on the qualifications and experience the successful candidate brings to the position. HHA participates in the Montana Public Employees Retirement System. Qualifications The position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction, project management, or a related field and four years progressively responsible experience including journey-level trade, program management, major building or multi-building facility management, and supervisory experience.
