Job Description
Westaff is seeking a Temporary Operations Specialist for a state office in Helena, MT!! Schedule: M-F, 9am-5pm, 30-40 hours per week, flexible Term: 3 months Pay: $35-$40/hr DOE The operations specialist impacts all areas of governmental public health system improvement in Montana. Through existing trusted relationships, partnerships, and organizational capabilities the operations specialist coordinates the design, leadership, and facilitation of projects and activities that help the statewide public health system effectively deliver essential public health services. This position is responsible for collaborating with Public Health leaders to develop and improve workforce performance, community health improvement processes, health department operations, and resources management processes through systems analysis and consultation with senior managers. This position does not supervise employees. Knowledge, skills and abilities should include: Knowledge of: • Business principles through experience or study of business or organizational management. • Organizational change management principles. • Principles of project planning, monitoring, and evaluation. Skilled in use of: • Electronic information management systems to coordinate and manage multiple organizational project timelines. • Microsoft office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) . Skilled in the use Microsoft Teams. • Problem solving processes, especially using the Scientific Method or similar model. Ability to: • Conduct operational analysis, produce reports and recommendations. • Provide verbal and written updates on progress over the life-span of a project. • Conduct near-term planning meetings with project teams to ensure compliance with policy, procedural, fiscal, etc. guidelines. • Communicate effectively with staff, senior management, partners, and customers to effect procedural outcomes and outputs. • Analyze and advise on project budgets. Minimum qualifications: • Background check required • 2 years of project management experience which involves stakeholders and collaborative team members. • 2 years of managerial or mid to executive level operational work experience in a mid to large size business, corporate, or governmental setting. • Trained and/or experienced in the use of Microsoft Office applications • Bachelor's Degree preferred.
